Buddha Jayanti : May
Buddha Jayanti is celebrated with great zeal here. Mass prayers are offered in community halls and public places and procession with floates are taken around the city.

Dussehra : October
The temples of the goddess Bhavani in Karnapura locality of Aurangabad is visited by thousands of devotees each day. On the tenth day, a fair is held when people greet each other with offerings of 'Apta' leaves, symbolising luck.

Ganesh Chaturthi : August/September
An important festival. Clay images of Ganpati are installed at public places and ten-day long celebrations are organised. On the last day, the clay images are taken in a procession and immersed in the river. The occasion is marked by a lot of fun and gaiety.

Rabi-Ul-Awal. For five days each year, during the month of Rabi-Ul-Awal, Muslims gather at the tomb of Khawaja. Muntajabuddin at Khultabad to pay homage to the hallowed saint.

Mahashivratri : February/March
At Grishneshwar temple a fair is held when crowds of devout worshipers of Lord Shiva gather at the temple.

Paithan Fair : March/ April
At Paithan on the banks of the river Godavari pilgrims gather to pay homage to the saint Eknath Maharaj. The fair lasts for about 10 days.

Shivaji Jayanti : May
The birth anniversary of Chatrapati Shivaji is celebrated with great zeal. A colourful procession with lezims ( a traditional musical instrument) and floats is taken round to the city which terminates at Kranti Chowk where there is an impressive bronze statue of Shivaji Maharaj.
